Hey everyone! I’m starting my MFA in about a week. I’m hoping that it will allow me to take my work to the next level and grow as an artist as a person. To celebrate, I want to start working as much as possible.
Here is my proposition.
I would love to do trades. IF you are interested in trading some new original work then I would love to do it. Just send me a message and we can arrange the size and exchange info. I would love to add some more original work for my collection and it will force me to draw more.
In addition, if you have something specific in mind please send me a message and we can work something out.
Thank you for your time. Take care.

Here are some pieces I created for trade recently. The first is a postcard and the others are ATCs that will be awarded to participants in the “Love Yourself for Art” contest. These are all graphite on paper.

Michelle Ferrera is another amazing artist I had the pleasure of meeting during my trip to NYC (more specifically, my trip around 3 city blocks in line). Her work features mixed media, drawing, and photography. After spending 13 hours talking, I feel like I know a lot about her but I’ll let her work speak for itself. You can find her at:

A little something I whipped together for a friend that was moving back to Brazil from Florida. Hopefully it has found a good home there. “Viagem segura” allegedly means “safe journey” in Porteguese and that is a map overlay of Florida over Brazil. Enjoy.

Morebadlettuce may not conjure images of beautiful art in your head, but it will after you see this person’s work. As far as I can tell, the vast majority of their work is postcard size mixed media compositions and can be found in private collections all over the world through something called the Postcrossing Project, where postcards are exchanged internationally. Morebadlettuce (if that is even her real name!) is a 17 year old girl from Illinois and I am a 29 year old man from Jealous. Their work makes me think of a mad architect. Something precise, measured, balanced, elegant and beautiful. There is no wasted energy in the work but nevertheless it brims with visual impact. Check it out below.

Apparently the University of Florida never deletes anything. I have not been formally enrolled there since 2004 yet lo and behold I recently stumbled across my very first website which has been collecting dust on their server. I created it in Dr. Craig Roland’s “Art Education and Technology” class. I thought you all might get a big kick out of it so without any further ado, check it out here: http://plaza.ufl.edu/anybody/ Let me know what you think.
In case you’re curious about technology in art education or Craig Roland, here are a few more of his sites:

One of the artists I met this past weekend in NYC is Katya Usvitsky, a fiber artist and graphic designer. From what I’ve seen so far, I love her work. After standing in line together for nearly 13 hours, I can tell you two things about Katya: she kept herself busy in line by knitting a “poo” and she has amazing taste in shoes. Check out her blog at: http://usvitsky.blogspot.com/

This is a hand-drawn and inked illustration that I painted in Photoshop CS2. This is the first time I had used that method and I’m really excited to play around with it some more. I created the illustration for College Loafing‘s college guide cover contest so wish me luck. Enjoy.
I’m back from my audition for Bravo TV’s new “untitled art project”. I made it to the second round but didn’t get any further. Ah well, there is always next year. Regardless I met some awesome people, had an amazing time visiting my friend in NYC and I already have some ideas for new exciting artwork. Now I get to go home to start my MFA program.
I’m also going to change my posting frequency a little as I will be posting twice a week from now on rather than 4 times a week. That way if I feel like posting more I can but I’m not as tied down to a schedule. Since I missed my Art of the week last week however I will be posting two images this week. As for today, please enjoy the pictures from my NYC adventure here at my Flickr account.
